Vintage MX Challenge 16

This weekend, Saturday, August 20 and Sunday, August 21, Washougal MX Park will be turning back the hands of time and holding the NW Challenge. This will be two days of moto – yesteryear, showcasing the bikes that we all grew up on.

Washougal Art Festival

Artists and art lovers from around the region will attend the Washougal Art Festival, Saturday August 13, 2016, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in downtown Washougal’s Refection Plaza. Some of the different art featured will include jewelry, water color, photography, mixed media, recycled steel, fused glass, paper weaving and line drawings, cement /concrete leaf castings, mosaic glass, terrariums, and wood. The “Art Rocks” area will offer young artists the opportunity to decorate their own river rock to take home as well as provide a template for coloring.

Camas barre in the Park

barre3 Camas is holding their annual barre3 in the Park class on Saturday, August 13, at Doc Harris Stadium. The event is free and all are welcome!

Make sure to bring a yoga mat, sunscreen, and water bottle. Registration begins at 9:30am. There will be a raffle for barre3 goodies, and you’re welcome to stick around, mingle and connect with vendors and friends until 11:30.

Join the Estuary Partnership for a free family friendly canoe paddle through the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at 10:00 am. Participants paddle 14-passenger 29′ canoes to Lake River’s confluence with the Columbia River.

Back to School Party

The National Park Service is pleased to announce that a free World War II living history encampment will take place on Saturday, July 23, 2016, 9 am to 5 pm, just west of Pearson Air Museum. This event is in partnership with the Living History Group Northwest, a local World War II living history organization.

Independence Day Talent Shines as Winners Announced

The Fort Vancouver National Trust has announced the winning Clark County high school vocalists who performed at the 2016 Independence Day events at Fort Vancouver. Ten local high school students competed for scholarships and more in the annual vocal competition.

The top three performers were:

First place: Sunday Manisto-Saari from Mountain View High School, with “Don’t Rain on my Parade” from Funny Girl.
Second place: Sydney Valaer from Washougal High School, with “All That Matters” from Finding Neverland.
Third place: Amanda Nicholson from Evergreen High School, with “Beyond My Wildest Dreams” from The Little Mermaid.
