Aviation Explorers Post at Pearson Field Education Center

Do you want to learn to fly? Or interested in a career in aviation? The Pearson Field Education Center, in partnership with Cascadia Technical Academy and Aero Maintenance Flight Center, will host the first meeting of Aviation Explorers at the Pearson Field Education Center on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 11:00 am to noon.

Take a Trip Down Pumpkin Lane

It’s October, and that means it’s time for a trip down Pumpkin Lane! Pumpkin Lane is a fun, mile-long scenic hayride winding through woods and across fields, with over 100 “Pumpkin People” greeting you along the way. The ride includes a stop at the pumpkin patch where visitors can get out and search for your own “Great Pumpkin”.

Vancouver Haunted Walking Tours

Experience a spooky slant on history on a Haunted Walking Tour of Vancouver on a dark (but hopefully not stormy) night. The Clark County Historical Museum’s 5th annual Haunted Walking Tours are reanimating Fridays and Saturdays this October. The spooktacular trips are at 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm each day and, new to this year, will start inside the Slocum House at Esther Short Park.

Washougal Bike Park Skills Course Grand Opening and Ride Party

Vancouver Brewfest Fresh Hop Edition

The Vancouver Brewfest – Fresh Hop Edition will feature fresh hop varieties from more than 30 Southwest Washington breweries. The festival will be held Friday and Saturday, October 7 and 8, 2016 at Vancouver Landing on the Columbia River.

Summer’s End Promenade at Fort Vancouver

The National Park Service at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site will present the annual Summer’s End Promenade on Saturday, September 24, 2016, between 1 pm and 3 pm, as part of the national park’s celebration of National Public Lands Day. Volunteers of all ages will be attired in a range of period clothing illustrating 110 years of history represented at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site and the Vancouver National Historic Reserve. They will stroll down Officers’ Row and along the national park’s historic Parade Ground, stopping at the Grant House and its veranda.

Celebrating 100 Years of our National Park Service

The 100th anniversary of the founding of the National Park Service will be celebrated at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site (NHS) on Saturday, August 27, 2016. Activities will take place at each of the four sites that make up this national park: the reconstructed Fort Vancouver, Vancouver Barracks, Pearson Air Museum, and the McLoughlin House in Oregon City, Oregon. Additionally, in honor of the centennial, all national parks nationwide, including Fort Vancouver NHS, will waive their entrance fees from August 25-27, 2016.
