Concerts at Noon in the Park

hey! sharing is caring :)

If it’s Wednesday, I’ll be eating my lunch outside with a side of music, please. It’s time for the free noon concerts in Esther Short Park.

Every Wednesday from July 6 through August 10, 2016 enjoy your lunch in Esther Short Park from noon to 1:00 pm and add a little musical inspiration to your week. Bring a chair or blanket to relax, or dance your lunch hour away to a new band every week.

Food vendors are also on-site providing a variety of tasty meal options and the kids will stay entertained at Science in the Park; a special learning treat from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to and during every Noon Concert where children can try hands-on crafts and experiments.

Here is the Wednesday lineup for Summer 2016:

July 6: Vancouver Pops Orchestra
Founded in 1970 right here in Vancouver, Washington, this orchestra has been a favorite at past concerts. Their mission is to inspire, motivate, and educate in a positive and encouraging environment.

July 13: The Pearls
A Country-Rock, Americana, and Western Swing band that hails from Vancouver, Washington. The Pearls count The Band, The Eagles, George Jones, The Grateful Dead and The Everly Brothers, in addition to old Dixieland jazz among their musical influences. They are currently producing their first studio-length self-titled album.

July 20: Lincoln’s Beard
Since 2006, Lincoln’s Beard has been writing, recording, and playing their original tunes far and wide throughout the Pacific Northwest. Currently a 4 piece band, consisting of acoustic guitar, electric guitar/lap steel, electric bass/banjo, and drums, their high energy shows keep your feet tapping and moving.

July 27: Castletown
Portland, Oregon-based Castletown blends the heart and soul of traditional Irish reels with modern folk, blues, jazz and country influences. Their new album In Reel Time was released in early 2016.

August 3: Three Together
These three musicians first met at an Open Mic in Vancouver, Washington, in the spring of 1994. Soon after flutist Judy Koch and acoustic guitarist Don Mitchell formed a duo and began performing local gigs. In 1997 Portland fingerstyle guitarist, Doug Smith, graciously agreed to help them with their CD project Sorting it Out.

August 10: River Twain
Gus Reeves and Brad Wager make up the duo River Twain; a soulful amalgamation of roots, blues, folk and americana music collectively known as DUSTBOWL SOUL.

And remember, if today is Wednesday…there are only two more days till the weekend!
