Once Upon a Time at Camas Days Festival

“Once Upon a Time” someone made a wish that there would be a fun event that would bring together the entire community for a summertime festival. Now, here we are getting ready to celebrate the 43rd Annual Camas Days festival taking place Friday and Saturday, July 21-22, 2017 in Downtown Camas.

It’s Game On at the Clark County Fair

The 149th Clark County Fair takes place Friday, August 4 through Sunday, August 13, 2017, and the Clark County Fair Association has created a marvelous lineup of thrilling features including DockDogs, Cowboy Boot Camp, and the all-new Game On! feature area filled with activities for the whole family. Plus, get all the rides, food, fun and adorable farm animals you can handle!

Riverside Concert Featuring Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts

The 16th Annual Port Concert Series will be having their final Riverside Concert of the season on Saturday, August 12, 2017, and will feature Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts! The Port of Camas-Washougal invites you down to Marina Park to enjoy this free concert from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Food vendors will be on site, as well as a Beer Garden. So, bring your family and friends and don’t forget your dancing shoes!!

Bark Ranger Walking Tour

Explore local history and learn about dog etiquette at the national park on this free, ranger-led walking tour series designed for visitors and their dogs, Tours begin at 10:00 am and last approximately 30-45 minutes.

Chelatchie Prairie Train Robbery Ride

You will think you took a step back in time and into the Wild, Wild, West when you board the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad, complete with “outlaws” attempting the “rob” the travelers. Fun for kids (and kids at heart) this special Steam Train Robbery Ride will take place on Saturday and Sunday, July 15 and 16, 2017.

Summer Playground Program is in Session

School is out and that means Battle Ground’s Summer Playground program is in session. The free program brings fun recreational activities to Battle Ground parks. Each week features a different themed activity and provides children the opportunity to make at least one arts and crafts project to take home with them. No need to register, just come outside and play!

Fort Vancouver Fireworks Celebration

Celebrate Freedom for Free at this year’s 4th of July Fireworks Show at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. This year is all about the fireworks, with no admission fee to the Independence Day at Fort Vancouver celebration.

StreamTeam East Fork Volunteer Effort

StreamTeam, the volunteer-driven stream restoration program from Clark Public Utilities, is looking for volunteers to join them for a hike around the East Fork of the Lewis River watershed to help locate knotweed for future treatment. Training, equipment, and refreshments will be provided.

Mother’s Day Dinner and Wine Train

Forget the flowers and chocolate… celebrate this Mother’s Day with dinner, wine and a train ride! Moulton Falls Winery Mother’s Dinner and Wine Train Ride will take place on Saturday, May 13th, so you can still give mom some flowers and chocolate on Sunday, too.

Annual Lilac Days Celebrates Spring

Enter into a springtime purple paradise as the Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens host Lilac Days to celebrate the coming of spring and the beauty of lilacs in bloom. Lilac Days takes place April 16 to May 8, 2016 (don’t forget that’s Mother’s Day, too) at the 1880’s Victorian Farmhouse and country gardens in Woodland, Washington.

Swim Season: Parks and Rec Hiring Lifeguards

The City of Vancouver’s Parks and Recreation Department is gearing up for a busy summer season and is now hiring more than 75 part-time lifeguards and swim lesson instructors at the Marshall and Firstenburg community centers.

Vancouver Parks and Recreation will hold a one-day aquatics hiring event at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 6 at the Firstenburg Community Center, 700 NE 136th Ave. Interviews will begin at 3 p.m. and required swim tests will begin at 3:30 p.m.
