Washington State Horse Expo Gallops Back into Town

The Washington State Horse Expo has become one of the top equine events in the Northwest, attracting thousands of horse owners and enthusiasts from all over the region. The event features national experts, entertainment, premiere vendors and kid-friendly activities. It’s the horse enthusiast’s event of the year! The 5th Annual Washington State Horse Expo will be held at the Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds, February 20th – 22nd.

Don Rhoads Appointed to Northwest Association for Blind Athletes Board of Directors

The Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) announced today Don Rhoads has been appointed to the organization’s Board of Directors. Rhoads is President of the Convenience Group in Vancouver, WA.

2015 Clark County Fair Court Coronation

The Riverview Community Bank Clark County Fair Court annual coronation of the incoming court is Saturday January 31, starting at 5PM, at the Clark County Event Center.

Spaghetti Feed and Concert for the Veterans Community Garden

Come out and support those who supported you! The Clark County Veterans Community Garden project is holding a feed and fundraiser on Friday, January 23, 2015, to be held at the 40 et 8 Club House located at 7607 NE 26th Avenue. The dinner will be from 4PM to 8PM and will have music provided by the Old Time Fiddlers, vocalist Rachel Len, and Ragtime piano by Art Miller. There will also be a silent auction and a childrens talent contest.

Community Foundation Accepting Scholarship Applications

Organization provided more than $400,000 in scholarships to students in 2014.

The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington has opened its 2015 scholarship application process, with most application deadlines closing on April 30. This year introduces an online application portal for students, which can be found at www.cfsww.org/how-we-grant/scholarships. The Foundation’s program and scholarship associate Ellora La Shier explained that the new system provides specific descriptions for scholarship funds managed by the Community Foundation, as well as a user-friendly interface that makes the application process more efficient and intuitive for all students.

Evergreen Habitat for Humanity Dedicates 31st Home

On January 19th, 2015 at 3:00 PM, Evergreen Habitat for Humanity will dedicate the organization’s 31st home in Clark County and family home for Michelle and Charles Frost at 3606 O Street, Vancouver, WA. Charles, a package handler at UPS, and Michelle, a stay at home mother, are getting excited as their home nears completion. Charles told Habitat “I feel like we have worked really hard to be where we are today” this is evident due to the countless hours the couple has put in working on their home and the home of other families in the Habitat program.
