The Parks Foundation of Clark County is accepting nominations for the Florence B. Wager award through February 28. Established in 2011, the award recognizes a leader, a volunteer, and a professional, each of whom has contributed to local parks, trails, and recreation programs in a significant and exemplary way.
The award honors Florence B. Wager who died in August 2012 after many years of community service and volunteerism. “Florence was a leader among leaders in our community,” said foundation executive director, Cheri Martin. “She was a strong citizen advocate and a true champion of parks and recreation. It was her passion.”
The awards (one in each of three categories) will be presented at the Parks Foundation annual meeting and luncheon, Thursday, April 30, at the Vancouver Hilton.
