Sylvester Takes Director Intern Role

The School of Piano Technology for the Blind recently announced the appointment of Leal Sylvester, Class of 1997, as Director of Instruction Intern. Sylvester, who previously worked for the school as both a field technician and instructor, will work hand-in-hand with the school’s current Director of Instruction Don Mitchell to master the school’s unique one-on-one curriculum and teaching methodology.

For the ninth consecutive year, J.D. Power recognizes Clark Public Utilities for ranking highest in customer satisfaction among midsize electricity providers in the Western United States.

The J.D. Power study measures customer satisfaction with electric utilities by examining six key factors, which cover all areas of utility operations: power quality and reliability; price; billing and payment; corporate citizenship; communications and customer service. In all of these categories, customers gave Clark Public Utilities the highest score in the West midsize segment.

Clark County’s Green Business program will host its fifth annual Green Business Showcase from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at Fort Vancouver’s historic Artillery Barracks, 600 Hathaway Road.

A Sweet Schedule for Camas February First Friday

Chocolate treats, fun themed activities, art shows, movies, prizes, and more will all be a part of the First Friday event in Downtown Camas on February 5th. Industry Fair in Works at Battle Ground PS

Employers in and around Clark County are invited to reserve a table at the Battle Ground Public Schools (BGPS) Industry Fair on Thursday, February 25, and help educate young people about career opportunities in southwest Washington. The event, sponsored by BGPS, WorkSource and YouthWorks, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Battle Ground High School, 300 W. Main Street, in Battle Ground.

Organizers are seeking employers from all industries: healthcare, manufacturing, technology, construction, finance, hospitality, retail, apprenticeship and transportation to share their job opportunities and career path possibilities with students and community members who attend the event. Vancouver Chamber Announces Cozzi as Ambassador of Year

The Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce (GVCC) announced John Cozzi Jr of Tailored Logistics as their “Ambassador of the Year” award recipient at their December “Holiday Heroes Luncheon” event. Each year the Chamber designates one Wally Hornberger Award recipient, which is our Ambassador of the Year award winner. Cozzi received the most votes from his ambassador peers to earn the award. The 24 person ambassador team was asked to vote based on attendance, positive attitude, and a willingness to help.
