On November 21st, 22nd & 23rd, the gift fair is a perfect destination for all those who have names to check off their list and there is something for everyone.

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Craft and Gift Sale

To support its long history of community outreach, St. Luke’s, the oldest Episcopal parish in the Washington Territory, is sponsoring a Holiday Craft and Gift Sale at the church hall, November 22, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday November 23 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm. The church is located one block from the I5 exit for Fourth Plain Blvd. West.

The crafts to be sold are being created and donated to the church by its members. Gift items are also donations from the congregation. The Craft items include wood, fabric, metal, ceramic, paper, photographic items and more. The gift items include costume jewelry, “regifted” items, decorative accessories, antiques and other

Free Firstenburg Family Fun Day!

Between busy schedules and all the digital distractions, good connected family fun can be hard to come by these days. Well the Firstenburg Community Center has a solution to this problem by hosting a FREE Family Fun Day and Movie Night filled with tons of active options.

On Saturday, November 22, 2014, grab the whole family and head down to the community center at 12:00 pm for some swimming, climbing, basketball, pickleball, and playgroup for the little ones. The Teen Zone will open up at 1:00 pm and the family friendly movie “The Lego Movie” will start at 6:30 pm. Check out below everything that the Firstenburg Community Center has to offer.

Veteran’s Day Parade at Fort Vancouver

On Saturday November 8th, join in and honor local veterans with this annual Department of Veteran Affairs sanctioned parade, at the Fort Vancouver National Site (612 E Reserve Street). Opening ceremony begins at 10:00 am and the parade will kick off at 11:00 am. This event is open to all.

The Veterans Parade at Fort Vancouver was started 28 years ago by a group of volunteers led by Mike Harding to recognize a need in our community, a way to honor Clark County veterans. More than 100 military, veteran and civic organizations and 2,500 individuals participate in the parade.

The Holiday Classic “Yes, Virginia There is a Santa Claus” at Magenta Theater

Warm your heart and soul at Magenta Theater, with the classic tale and radio drama, “Yes Virginia There is a Santa Claus,” by Andrew J. Fenady. This timeless story captures a large cast of characters as they experience  life’s struggles, trials and the miracle of faith that preserves hope and the human spirit. You will spend some time with the working class O’Hanlon family and Frank Church as they face their toughest battles and search for the answer to our childhood question….is there a Santa Claus?

Historic Fort Vancouver Hosts Lantern Tours

The Fort Vancouver Lantern Tour allows you a unique peek into the past through costumed interpreters performing historical vignettes and the opportunity to learn about your urban national park. You will finish off your evening by sharing a cup of hot cider with the talented costume interpreters and park rangers!

It’s a Chili Weekend at English Estates

English Estate Winery will host it’s 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off, October 25th, 2-5 p.m. in the Loafing Shed Tasting Room, 17806 SE 1st Street. This is a FREE event, with the winner chosen by a “People’s Choice” vote.

Enjoy tasting Chili, Estate wines and if you’d like, bring your own pumpkin to carve and participate in the Estate’s over 21 Pumpkin Carving contest. Music will be performed by local musician Laura May from 2:30-4:30 p.m. First place on either event receives a $50 English Estate Winery gift card.
