What? is Getting You Prepared.
What? That’s right, What? events are the Vancouver USA Marathon “pre-functions” that take place monthly (usually on a Tuesday evening) where you can get together and meet others who are training to run, or walk, the inaugural Vancouver USA Marathon. These run/walks are free and are a great opportunity to run a portion of the course, get some free stuff (first 10 people to show up receive a commemorative “I’m Training for the Vancouver USA Marathon” T-shirt, and a chance for a free entry into the marathon), a free beer, and discounts on Pasta and/or Happy Hour.
There are four three two more What? events until race day: February 15, 6:30 pm, at The Main Event (800 Main Street, Downtown Vancouver); March 23, (changed from the 22nd!) 6:30 pm, at Beaches Restaurant; April 19, 6:30 pm, at Tommy O’s; and May 17, 6:30 pm, at The Rock Wood Fired Pizza.
There will be a whole bunch of fun activities running (get it? 8-) ) the weekend of the race, starting with a two-day Sports and Fitness Expo on Friday at the Hilton, a fashion show, entertainment, a 5K Freedom Run, a Kids Marathon, a Half Marathon, the Vancouver USA Marathon, and, of course, the After Party!
Whew, I’m tired just thinking about all that activity!
