Before all the Walking and Knocking takes place on Saturday, December 3, 2016, before the bags are filled, before the bags are distributed, there are tons (well, maybe not tons) of paper bags that need to be folded! That’s right, about 150,000 paper bags need to be folded for distribution to homes as part of Clark County’s largest food drive.
Clark County Walk and Knock will be holding a bag folding “party” – ok, so it’s a “work party”… but a party’s a party, right? : ) – at the Clark County Food Bank (6502 NE 47th Ave., Vancouver) between 8:00 am and 1:00-ish pm on Saturday, November 19, 2016. Bring your family, bring your friends and enjoy the “party”; and keep in mind the old adage, “Many hands make light work”.
Volunteers are also needed on the day of , and after, the main event. They are looking for drivers and food picker-uppers, people to bring the donations to a central drop-off location, and box the groceries so it can be taken to local food banks. Can’t volunteer, but still want to help? You can make a difference by donating supplies or money, or becoming a corporate sponsor. Visit Clark County Walk and Knock for more information or call 877-995-6625.
