What’s in a Name: Battle Ground Exhibit Explores

The Battle Ground Community Library has an excellent exhibit going on for the next several weeks in the Meyer Community Room. It’s all about the circumstances surrounding Battle Ground’s naming and sponsored by the Friends of the Battle Ground Community Library.

During all of September and October, the Friends are providing some details to help answer the many questions about the ‘battle that never occurred’ and other related topics such as ‘what was it like here in 1855?’ All this is happening through an exhibit of historical photos and story boards. It also delves into the story recognizing the lead figures of the ‘confrontation’ and how two schools in the Battle Ground School District have the distinction of being named Chief Umtuch and Captain Strong. It’s an exhibit all ages will find of interest.
