Southwest Washington Special Education Conference and Resource Fair.

Find the resources you need to help those with special needs at the second annual Southwest Washington Special Education Conference and Resource Fair on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Prairie High School from 9 am to 5 pm.

This FREE event is designed to provide information and resources to families of children and young adults with special needs regardless of age (birth – 21) or nature of disability (mild-severe). The conference welcomes parents, grandparents, guardians, young adults, and the professionals that serve students/families with disabilities.

The resource fair will provide the opportunity to listen to Keynote Speakers, visit with local businesses/agencies serving families of children with special needs and attend informational and hands on workshops; including iPad and iPod Apps, Nutrition Services, Music Therapy, Recreational Opportunities and many more. Click here for a full list of  workshop opportunities.

“The conference started with a simple concept. If we searched out everyone in our community serving families of students with special needs and asked them to share their service, product, and skills with those needing them, could we “get everyone in the same room”? In October 2011, we made contact with over 200 people, non-profits, social service agencies, schools, and organizations. The response was overwhelming.

For our second annual event in 2013, we have created a committee, made up of educators in local districts and business members in Clark County aimed at planning and organizing the conference.

We are committed to providing an amazing opportunity for our community free of charge. Please join us on Saturday, April 27th, 2013 at PHS. We look forward to meeting you, sharing and learning with you, and celebrating you, your children, and our community.” ~Southwest Washington Special Education conference and Resource Fair
