After nearly 13 years, thousands of volunteer hours, and the dedicated work of countless neighborhood and community leaders, Sorenson Park is finally set to open. The Felida-area park will host a Ribbon Cutting event on Saturday, December 3, starting at 1:30PM. Felida Neighborhood Association President Milada Allen, Park Advisory Board Co-Chair Barbara Anderson, and Sorenson Park Co-Chair A.J. Sallee will share stories about the history of the Park and the uphill battle to get it built.
Sorenson Park is located at NW 26th Avenue and NW 109th Street.
Beginning at 2:00PM, there will be refreshments and door prizes at the Felida Village/The BackStairs, located on the corner of NW 36th Avenue and NW 119th Street. There will also be exhibits for the Children’s Celebration area in Felida Community Park, as well as a conceptual site plan for Cougar Creek Woods Community Park and trails, which will be displayed until 3:30PM.
Join your neighbors in celebrating a new park in your neighborhood.
