Come on out and enjoy a Pancake Breakfast at the kick off of the first “City of Abundance” mural at the IGA Grocery Store in the Rose Village Plaza on Saturday, July 2, 2011 between 9 am and 11 am.
The mural design was a collaborative effort between youth from Vancouver and local artist Colin Cushman. 200 youth answered the questions, “What does Urban Abundance mean to you?” and “What does an urban landscape filled with abundance look like?” Cushman adapted the students written and visual responses to create an image for the first “City of Abundance” mural, which will be displayed on the East side of the IGA Grocery Store.
The mural is part of efforts by local non-profit Americans Building Community to transform the 4th Plain Corridor. Join them as they bring color (and pancakes :)) to the neighborhood.
