ESD 112 recently rolled out the virtual red carpet for the 2022 Southwest Washington Regional High School Art Show. Hosted on YouTube, ESD 112 Superintendent Tim Merlino welcomed guests to this year’s virtual event. Viewers had a chance to see award-winning pieces in addition to hearing from participating artists.

“Art and creative expression are more important this year than ever before,” said Monique Dugaw, Executive Director of Communications and Public Information at ESD 112. “Student participants demonstrated exceptional skill and originality in their work, which was heavily influenced by the challenge of another pandemic year.”

Winners of the Regional Awards will compete against entries from around Washington State in the Virtual State Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) Art Show. The Virtual Artwork Gallery will go live on April 29, and the Virtual Awards Ceremony will take place online on May 26.

In addition to the recognition from ESD 112, all student artists who were recognized with an award in this year’s Art Show also received scholarships from the Department of Art + Design at Central Washington University, and/or Pacific Northwest College of Art.

The virtual art gallery of all participants’ artwork is now available for viewing on ESD 112’s website. Student artists who received awards and/or scholarships are listed below.
