Camas and the greater Clark County area is home to many talented local artists and this talent will be showcased for the “Plein Air & Art Event” for September 1st’s Camas First Friday.
From 9:00 am to 4:00 pm you can watch as Plein Air Artists set up their easels in Downtown Camas to paint.
What is “Plein Air” you ask? It is the French tradition where artists paint the landscape in the “open air.”
There will be many other local artists on display, live music, and local activities through out the day and into First Friday evening events.
The finished plein air art pieces will be on display at the Camas Gallery from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm and the community will have the chance to vote for its favorites and “People Choice Awards” will be given.
Also, the much awaited dedication of the Hidden Bronze Bird Tour will take place at 5:00 pm at 4th and Cedar.
Everyone is invited to discover the 13 bronze birds that will be installed throughout downtown. This is a fun activity for the whole family as you stroll around to find a woodpecker, ducks, crows and much more.
Don’t miss out taking the little ones to get creative at The Paint Roller Mobile Paint Party, where kiddos can paint rocks, chalk art and take part in the coloring contest.
Many shops will have special offers and local galleries will be open with an opportunity to meet artists, enjoy the art and win some prizes.
So come on out for the day or just First Friday while it is still so nice outdoors!
