PeaceHealth’s Kearney Breast Centers in partnership with the Breast Cervical and Colon Health Program in both Vancouver and Longview will provide free clinical breast exams and digital 3D mammograms for uninsured or poorly insured women in October. The exams are aimed to detect breast cancer in its earliest, most treatable stages.
“We’re trying to make it as convenient as possible for women to make breast health a part of their annual health routine,” said Kathleen Pyper, Manager of the Breast Cervical & Colon Health Program. “To make it easy, we’re offering free breast screenings October 14th at the PeaceHealth St. John Kearney Breast Center in Longview, and then again on October 21st at the PeaceHealth Southwest Kearney Breast Center in Vancouver. Although we encourage women to schedule an appointment, we will also provide care for women who walk in without an appointment. Our goal is to screen every woman who needs this important preventive procedure.”
Free screenings are available to women who meet the following criteria:
-Age 40 or older
-No current breast health issues
-Qualify through the Breast Cervical and Colon Health Program
Women who wish to determine whether they qualify through the Breast Cervical and Colon Health Program should call 800.992.1817 extension 1. The program provides financial assistance for women at certain income levels. Women with health insurance are welcome to attend the screening with the understanding that their insurance provider will be billed.
