The North Clark Historical Museum and Mt. Valley Grange #79 will be hosting a Salute to Veterans on Saturday, November 5th at the Mt. Valley Grange #79, 40107 NE 221st Avenue, Amboy.
A ‘Pie and Ice Cream Social’ will be held at 1:00 pm in the basement. Adults $4.00, Children (12 and under) $2.00 with proceeds going to Mt. Valley Grange #79 for operating expenses.
The Program will start at 2:00 PM with speaker Alan Hunter. North Clark area organizations will be recognized for their contributions to the community. The organization to be highlighted is the Friends of the Cedar Creek Grist Mill. Pete Catching will present information about activities and programs provided by the Grist Mill. Danae Castle and the Amboy Middle School Band will provide entertainment. The American Legion Tum Tum Post #168 will present the Flag.
All Veterans attending will receive a free raffle ticket for a special Patriotic Quilt made and donated by the Chelatchie Quilters. The quilt is lap-size and may only be won by a Veteran.
The winning ticket for the quilt “Wild Flowers”, a fundraiser for North Clark Historical Museum, will be drawn. Proceeds from the raffle supplement the Capital Improvement Fund. Museum Board members will provide potted plants for the Door Prize Raffle. Proceeds from the door prize raffle supplement the General Fund. Tickets will be available in the basement and in the main hall for both drawings from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
A Pie Auction of store-bought pies will conclude the event, proceeds will go to Mt. Valley Grange #79.
