The Parks Foundation of Clark County is accepting nominations for the Florence B. Wager award through April 1. Established in 2011, the award recognizes a leader, a volunteer, and a professional, each of whom has contributed to local parks, trails, and recreation programs in a significant and exemplary way.

The award honors Florence B. Wager who died in August 2012 after many years of community service and volunteerism. Cheri Martin, Parks Foundation Executive Director said, “Florence was a leader among leaders in our community, she was a strong citizen advocate and a true champion of parks and recreation. It was her passion.”

The three categories of awards are; The Leading Eagle award which recognizes a community leader, The V-Formation Flyer award which recognizes the spirited volunteer, and The Tributary award which recognizes a parks and recreation department professional who has gone above and beyond their daily duties. One award in each category will be given. More detail on each category can be found online.

The awards will be presented at the Parks Foundation annual meeting and luncheon, Tuesday, June 3, at the Vancouver Hilton.

Nomination packets and luncheon tickets are available online. Nominations must be submitted to the Parks Foundation office, P.O Box 61424, Vancouver WA 98666. For more information on the process or the annual luncheon, call Cheri  360-487-8370 or visit the Parks Foundation website.
