Celebration Set for July 17.
All library services will be available, including: a 4,000 square foot Early Learning Center, Teen Central, the fifth floor outdoor terrace, 69 internet computers, and more. The new library will also include a used book store, Booknook, operated by the Friends of the Library, and Thatcher’s in the Atrium Coffee Corner (and, yes, you can take your coffee to the fifth floor terrace to enjoy!).
I was lucky enough to have a tour of the Vancouver Community Library last week and I think the place is amazing, as are the staff there! The five story building is awash in daylight, and the displays all over the library invite you to touch, feel, see, do and learn. This is definitely a place the whole family will enjoy! You can check out a few of the pictures here.
Beginning July 18, 2011, the hours for the Vancouver Community Library will be Monday through Thursday 9 am to 8 pm, and Friday through Sunday 10 am to 6 pm. For more information, call (360) 695-1566 or visit Fort Vancouver Regional Library District online.
