Local Parks Foundation a Force of Nature

hey! sharing is caring :)

parks-foundation-500-webOur friends at the Parks Foundation are at it again. According to a recent release, the Parks and Recreation Foundation of Vancouver and Clark County is blazing a trail in its good deeds. From the release:

The Parks Foundation was named the 2013 Intertwine Force of Nature Outstanding Organization at the October 9 Intertwine Alliance Fall Summit. The Parks Foundation was honored for demonstrating innovation and collaboration in making a real difference in the community. The nomination cited the growth of the Foundation’s Community Grant program which provides funding to the cities of Clark County, its partnership and collaboration with special project groups and organizations working to raise funds for parks, trails, and recreation programs, and the success of the Foundation’s Nature Explore Club Program.

The Intertwine Alliance is a coalition of private firms, public agencies and nonprofit organizations to ensure the region’s trail network is completed; that our natural areas are restored, and that people of all ages discover they can enjoy the outdoors near where they live.

In September, the Parks Foundation received the Nonprofit Network of Southwest Washington’s 2013 Impact Award which honors a nonprofit organization whose performance and delivery to the community sets a high standard of quality and impact.

About the Parks Foundation
The Parks and Recreation Foundation of Vancouver and Clark County was established in 1999 to accept and administer donations, gifts and bequests for the enrichment and enhancement of our communities’ parks, trails, and recreational programs. The mission of the Parks Foundation is to raise funds through public and private partnerships for parks, trails, and recreational programs throughout Clark County. The Foundation is a 501 C 3 non-profit corporation and all gifts are tax deductible. The Foundation is governed by a board of directors comprised of local citizens who oversee, invest and administer donations made to the Foundation.

Good work folks; now the rest of you – get out there and enjoy our parks. :)
