Hoopin’ with Heroes

hey! sharing is caring :)

Nothing like a friendly little rivalry game on a Friday night, right?

The Vancouver Police Activities League (PAL) will host the 3rd annual Hoopin’ With Heroes Police vs. Fire charity basketball game on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Fort Vancouver High School (5700 E. 18th Street). Tip-off at 7:15 pm.

This event promises to serve up some friendly competition on the court between players representing the Vancouver Police Department, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the Washington State Department Of Corrections, and the Vancouver Fire Department. Cost of entry is canned food or $5, with all food donations benefiting Treasure House and Share.

Prior to tip-off, Shoot 360 will be holding a free basketball clinic from 5:45-6:45 for 4th-7th grade youth.

The Police Activities League is a non-profit organization that partners with law enforcement agencies to promote positive relationships between law enforcement officers and youth in the community through educational programs and recreational opportunities. PAL believes that it can help reduce the juvenile crime rates in the city of Vancouver by empowering our youth to make responsible life choices. PAL offers many at-risk children with year-round programs and special events that foster teamwork, enforce citizenship, and provide the opportunities to work with law enforcement officers and caring adult mentors.

Fire currently holds the trophy. Think Police can take it back?
