We are lucky to live in an area with so much natural diversity in our surroundings.
You do not have to travel far to be in the middle of the forest, to be boating on the river, to venture out and watch critters in the wetlands….not to mention where you can end up if you travel a few hours in any direction.
Right here in Clark County, we have an organization that works to provide programs that serve thousands each year and seeks to give everyone in our community access to the proven ability of nature to heal, restore, and increase our quality of life.
Columbia Springs strives to get everyone hooked on nature through science education and helping everyone have access to the outdoors…and they need your help!
On Saturday, August 5, 2017, at the Vancouver Water Resources Education Center, there will be a fantastic evening to support Columbia Springs and their mission.
“Hooked on Nature” will be an evening where you will experience a “throw-back” to summer camp, as you get a taste of programs that are offered year round to the community.
The auction and bar open at 5:30 pm and the celebrity cooking competition will begin at 6:45 pm.
You don’t want to miss this!!!
Six local chefs will be making their best salmon entrees and you get to try each one, vote on your favorite and help crown the champion.
Through out the evening enjoy live music, the opportunity to win some amazing raffle prizes and local beer and wine at the bar until 9:00 pm.
Your support of this event will allow Columbia Springs to help low-income seniors, at-risk youth, homeless children, and other vulnerable populations participate fully in the programs they offer.
It will also allow them to retain the much needed staff and purchase the necessary equipment to run the field trips, workshops, and many other community events.
