Clark County residents can safely dispose of a variety of holiday wastes at the 2016 Green Neighbors Holiday Cleanup. The event will be Saturday, January 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cascade Middle School, 13900 NE 18th Street.
Clark County residents can drop off block foam, used electronics, artificial Christmas trees, strings of lights and metal-frame lawn ornaments. No other recyclables or wastes will be accepted.
“This is the time to get rid of all the block foam and old electronics from the holidays,” said Don Benton, Environmental Services director. The cleanup event is sponsored by Green Neighbors, an Environmental Services program with grant funding from the Washington State Department of Ecology.
This Holiday Cleanup is free and open to all Clark County residents. Proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or other identification with an address, may be required. No business waste, household hazardous waste such as paints, pesticides or household chemicals, used tires, scrap metal or yard debris will be accepted.
Information on year-round disposal options for a variety of recyclables and other materials is available on the county website at RecyclingA-Z.com. For more information, call Environmental Services at (360) 397-2121 ext. 4352.
