Friends of the Carpenter will host its 14th annual auction, “Turning Lives Around with Love” on Saturday, October 22, 2016, from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the Hilton Vancouver, 301 West 6th Street.
The auction features dinner and both silent and live auctions. The silent auction will include over 100 items including gift baskets and many beautiful, hand-crafted woodworking items. The live auction features experiences such as a two-night stay at Gearhart by the Sea in Gearhart, Oregon; a dinner at McKusick’s Pond with world renowned author Paul Young; a one-night stay at Chinook Winds Casino Resort Hotel in Lincoln City; a 2-hour limo tour throughout Clark County for six followed by dinner at Mill Creek Pub; and a one-night stay at the family-owned Husum Bed and Breakfast, that also includes a four-hour guided trip down the White Salmon River; and much more.

“We are delighted by the response in ticket sales so far,” said Tom Iberle, executive director. “Our live auction includes an amazing selection of hand-made wood items, trips to the coast, nights out to local restaurants and much more. Proceeds from these items will enable us to continue our daily work as a faith-based day facility that provides safety, structure, and purpose for vulnerable members of our community.”
This year’s master of ceremonies is Katherine Cook, an Emmy-winning reporter for KGW News. Cook has worked at Channel 8 for nine years and loves sharing stories about people in our community. Katherine grew up in Portland, and in her spare time loves gardening, running and watching sports — especially the Portland Trail Blazers and Denver Broncos.
