Vancouver Parks and Recreation will host a free family fun day at the Marshall Community Center from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016.
“As we prepare for another exciting summer, we wanted to invite the community to enjoy a day of fun and learn about all the services and programs we have to offer,” said Marshall/Luepke Community Center Director Andy Meade.
Families and individuals are invited to enjoy a variety of free activities, including:
* public swims at the Marshall Pool
* pottery demonstrations
* sports activities in the gymnasium
* body composition testing and demonstrations at the fitness center
* gaming activities at the Teen SPOT and Game Room
* face painting
Special discounts on summer programs will be available to those who register in person at the event.
Three 1.5-hour long open swim times will be available at noon, 1:45 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Wristbands for each public swim will be available 45 minutes in advance. Space is limited.
The Marshall Community Center is located at 1009 E. McLoughlin Blvd. and is served by C-TRAN buses 3 and 30.
The Marshall Community Center has served the residents of Vancouver and Clark County for more than 50 years. The center, named for General George C. Marshall, realized a community vision for an exciting recreation facility serving people of all ages in Vancouver. The center was renovated and modernized in 2007 and continues to serve as a place for people of all ages and abilities to learn, get healthy and have fun.
