There are times when it can be a struggle just to take the stairs instead of the escalator up a flight of stairs. Now try to imagine climbing 69 flights of stairs while wearing about 45 pounds (or more) of gear. Whew, I’m exhausted just thinking about it!
Every year, firefighters from the Vancouver Fire Department travel to Seattle to take part in the Firefighter Stairclimb to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
While the “Main Event” takes place in Seattle on March 11, 2018, you can help support your local firefighters as they raise funds and awareness for this worthy cause right here in Vancouver.
Firefighters will be at Firehouse Subs on Friday, February 16, 2018, between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm climbing StairMasters in full uniform. “Join us at the local level to raise awareness and fill the boot to support this worthy cause. Stop by and cheer us on!”
Firehouse Subs will also be donating a portion of all sales to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on February 16. Firehouse Subs is located at 19151 SE Mill Plain Blvd., Suite 102, Vancouver.
