Find Out More About Upward Bound at Open House

hey! sharing is caring :)

Upward Bound will host an open house on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the Evergreen High School College Prep Center (143000 NE 18th Street, Vancouver 98684) from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon.

Students, parents, extended family, and interested citizens are encouraged to attend to find out more about the program’s offering which focuses on identifying and helping students who come from low-income families and/or families in which neither parent holds a bachelor’s degree, improve high school academic outcomes that lead to applying, attending, and graduating from post-secondary institutions.

The program has room for up to 60 students in grades 9-12, from Evergreen and Heritage High Schools in the Evergreen School District, and Fort Vancouver High School in the Vancouver School District. Support includes academic assistance, tutoring, advising, mentoring, college and career exploration, and cultural enrichment activities for students.

Upward Bound is sponsored by LULAC National Education Service Center in partnership with Evergreen and Vancouver School Districts, and received a grant from the U.S. Department of Education to set up the program at the three local high schools. Students from Evergreen, Heritage, and Fort Vancouver are encouraged to apply. The Open House will provide prospective interested students, families, and community members with program details and information on how to stay involved.
