Local Ladies are an Absolut Mess.
If you live in Southwest Washington long enough, you’ve heard of the Hood to Coast and Portland to Coast relay. If you live in Southwest Washington long enough, you probably know someone that has participated in the Hood to Coast/Portland to Coast relay. Well, last year I was lucky enough to actually compete in the Portland to Coast relay as part of Team Absolut Mess; and the most important thing I learned is that it’s not about the hype, it’s about the HOPE!
The Hood to Coast and Portland to Coast races are a major fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. This year, nearly 1.5 million people will hear the words “You have cancer,” and there’s a good chance that some of them will be people we know and love. I have chosen to help create a world with less cancer and more birthdays – where cancer won’t steal another year from anybody’s life – by helping the American Cancer Society’s work. I am asking for your donation (click link for secure, online , tax-deductible donation form) to help the American Cancer Society save lives and create more birthdays by helping people stay well, helping people get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back.
So, who is Absolut Mess? Some of us have been friends since High School (Columbia River, Class of 1984) or before, some of us are friends from work, some of us just became friends; but all of us are ABSOLUT MESS friends! The team includes Sherry Bell, Melanie (Cresap) Canton, Shelli (Shook) Chesterfield, Julie Chesterfield, NancyAnn Dalrymple, Kelli (Aubert) Fox, Debora (Romig) Haney, Katie (King) Lee, Lynnette (Lehman) Roberts and Kristi (Semmler) Valentine.
How did we get our name? Well, come on out to one of our FUNdraisers, and we’ll be more than happy to tell you!
