Experience Vancouver Lake

hey! sharing is caring :)

Our lakes are an important part of our community! They provide a wide variety of fishing and water activities throughout the year.

Vancouver Lake is one of the local favorites for all it has to offer. There is something for every age and interest with walking paths to see wildlife, swimming, views of Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams and Mt. St. Helens, windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing and rowing competitions.

Are you interested in learning more about the lake and how to keep this space beautiful and viable for everyone? Or what activities are happening at the lake? On Thursday, April 13, 2017, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, come out to the Water Resources Education Center and join the Estuary Partnership for the Open House for Vancouver Lake.

Folks from the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site will be there with an interactive display on how wildlife living in and on Vancouver Lake benefitted the Fort, Native American tribes and early settlers. Loo Wit Group — Sierra Club will be sharing various Vancouver Lake hikes, paddles and other outings. Vancouver Lake Crew will be on hand to tell you how you can start racing crew or dragon boats, or how to just enjoy the lake in kayaks or SUPs.Plus find out ways to get involved with trail building and restoration projects.

Light refreshments will be provided. RSVP on Facebook for more details and updates.

What a great way to get connected with the community and get involved in supporting this natural resource.
