Every 28 Days

hey! sharing is caring :)

There are some things that can be just plain awkward to talk about. But, just because something is awkward or difficult, does not mean it doesn’t need to be addressed.

For the second year, a group of community volunteers are seeking collection sites to gather feminine hygiene products, which will be distributed to nonprofits that serve women experiencing homelessness.

The effort is called #Every28Days and is seeking the participation of Clark County businesses, clubs, and churches to host collection sites for product donation from January 19 until February 28, 2018.

Location sites will be advertised beginning January 10th on the #Every28Days Facebook page. There will also be two events for the general public on February 28th from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Garage Bar and Grille and Mill Creek Pub in Battle Ground.

“There are women in our community who are experiencing homelessness or who have extremely limited income and cannot afford to purchase feminine hygiene products. They resort to using other items…that are not sanitary and put their health at risk. Our goal is to collect feminine hygiene items to provide support for those Clark County women who are most in need,” said Lisa Goodrich, organizer of the #Every28Days effort. “We feel this is a dignity issue. Feminine hygiene products should not be a luxury. They are a need that often goes unfilled for many women throughout the country, but also right here in Clark County. We want to do something to help and we invite the community to join us.”

Please contact Lisa Goodrich if your business, club or church would like to be advertised as a collection site. They are also seeking the donation of baskets for drawings at the two events on February 28th.
