Cruisin’ in the ‘Couve

hey! sharing is caring :)

Annual Cruisin’ the Gut Bigger Every Year. Help drive out hunger in Clark County at the annual Cruisin’ the Gut event in downtown Vancouver on Saturday, July 18, 2015. How can the coolest cars around help fight hunger? Well…

Just bring a canned food donation with you when you come down to watch (or drive) all the cool cars in town. Bring 5 or more canned items and receive a Cruisin’ the Gut dash plaque (while supplies last); and the first 300 donations will receive a goodie bag. Food donations will be accepted at Dairy Queen (28th and Main), Vendor Alley (16th and Main), and Top Shelf (6th and Main).

For those of you who don’t know what Cruisin’ the Gut is: it’s a day to see some awesome cars, both old and new and everything in between; it’s a day to see your friends (yes, they will be there); it’s a day to enjoy our great downtown Vancouver; and it’s a day to share stories with those too young to remember what cruisin’ used to be!

Many folks around here (myself included  8-) ) remember when Cruisin’ the Gut was a weekly event. Where instead of driving way too fast…teenagers drove way too slow. It started at Dairy Queen (some things never change, and that’s quite all right) and ended…well, it ended up just being a big circle! And now as the circle of life continues, it appears the annual Cruisin’ the Gut is here is here to stay…and that’s quite all right with me, too!

Cruisin’ will begin around 10 am on Saturday, July 18, 2015 and lasts pretty much all day. Visit Cruisin’ the Gut for a map and more information about the event and activities.
