Vancouver native Scott Clemans recently accepted the position of Community Outreach Coordinator for Clark County. Scott previously served as a public affairs specialist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and has handled assignments throughout western Oregon on behalf of the Portland district office since 2007. His background also includes work with the U.S. Forest Service and U.S. Army Reserve. Scott earned a master’s degree in communication studies from Portland State University and completed a bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Willamette University.
In his new capacity, Scott works with the more than two-dozen official Neighborhood Associations in Clark County, assisting in communications efforts between County government, the Neighborhood Associations, and the stakeholders they serve.
In related news, a Clark County neighborhood association’s newsletter was recently recognized for excellence at the Neighborhoods, USA annual conference in Memphis, Tennessee.
The East Minnehaha and Roads End Neighborhood Associations “Happenings” earned second place in the NUSA 2016 Neighborhood Newsletter Competition for electronic formats published six or fewer times per year. A panel of national neighborhood leaders evaluated branding, aesthetics and design, technical layout and content.
