Cool Shirts at Mt. Tabor Brewing.

First Friday means Vancouver’s Art Walk… and fun times at Mt Tabor Brewing.

To make First Friday in February extra special Mt. Tabor Brewing has partnered up with Moreland Print and Friday Freezer Artist Charlie Layton to create an event you won’t want to miss. There will, of course, be the usual First Friday fun activities on tap; but Moreland Print will also be chillin’ out selling Freezer Friday shirts as a fundraiser for the Vancouver Children’s Center.

So, what exactly is Freezer Friday Art? “Charlie Layton, a Pennsylvania-based artist, realized one morning that his freezer was made of the same surface as a dry-erase board. He began drawing various scenes on it every Friday morning as he drank his coffee, and posted the pictures to his Facebook page. His drawings have provided amusement to friends and strangers alike and have shown up on blogs as far away as Europe and Japan, with various media outlets featuring him and his creations.”

David Cummings of Vancouver’s own Moreland Print has formed a relationship with Charlie and is now printing and selling these shirts; they have agreed to make three designs available for First Friday and will be selling them in the brewery Friday February 1, 2013. Shirts are $20 each, with $10 of each shirt sold at the brewery going to the Vancouver Children’s Center, whose mission is to serve children, youth and families through comprehensive community-based mental health services. There is no better way to give back than to grab one of these unique t-shirts, while also enjoying the great atmosphere provided by Eric Surface and the crew at Mt Tabor Brewing.

Mt Tabor Brewing is located Downtown Vancouver at 113 W 9th Street; typical First Friday hours are 5 pm to 9 pm. For more information, visit Mt Tabor Brewing or Moreland Print.
