Prepare for a Day of Fun and Information.
Did you know that September is National Preparedness Month? Makes sense, seeing as one of the dates in September is 9-1-1. This is also the month when Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency (CRESA) invites the community to their annual day of preparedness fun, the CRESA Open House on Saturday, September 7, 2013 between 11 am and 2 pm (710 W 13th Street, Vancouver).
“No one wants to think about disasters or having to call 9-1-1 to report an emergency, especially when they could hit close to home, right? But getting a community to understand and ready itself for disasters or to dial 9-1-1 during emergencies is vital to ensuring that we are prepared and have the ability to get back on our feet quickly when true disaster strikes.”
Come see how much fun getting prepared can be! Enjoy free hot dogs and pizza (while they last!), face-painting, balloons, buttons and passports for kids, as well as many hands-on types of activities for the whole family (like learning hands only CPR), K9 demonstrations, and a tour of our local 911 center and Emergency Operations Center.
