Bicycle Racing in the Couve

hey! sharing is caring :)

Vancouver Courthouse Criterium.

Bicycle racing is an exciting and challenging discipline, incorporating strength, fitness, coordination, strategy, precision, endurance and guts. A Criterium is a short road race on a circuit – usually city streets – closed to traffic.  The distance per lap may vary and races are of varying numbers of laps.  The mass start, high-speed cornering and sprinting make criterium exciting for participants and spectators alike.

The popular Vancouver Courthouse Criterium returns for its sixth year on Sunday, July 31, 2011.  This eight corner criterium around the Vancouver Courthouse  is flat, fast, located in the heart of Vancouver, Washington and will benefit the Washington State School for the Blind.

This year, the event is being featured as an Oregon Cup Race which is a season long series for elite men and elite women consisting of six races. The races begin and end at 12th and Daniels, and the unique figure 8 course offers spectacular spectator views of exciting, fast paced races throughout the day.

You can even be a part of the action! There are race categories for Kids under 6, Kids 7-9, Kids 10-12, Juniors 12-14, Juniors 15-18, Men, Women, Seniors and Masters, check out the Vancouver Courthouse Crit event flyer for more information.
