The wineries of Southwest Washington invite wine enthusiasts to skip the Black Friday madness and tour Washington’s newest wine region over Thanksgiving Day Weekend.
With the harvest season coming to a close, the wineries will celebrate the constant evolution of wine by offering visitors a sneak peek into the wine-making process. Wine at various stages can be sampled at each winery.
The Southwest Washington wine region is home to nearly two-dozen family-owned, artisan wineries and vineyards; all produce fewer than 1000 cases per year, which means winemakers are frequently pouring their own wines. Many of the tasting rooms are located onsite with mature and developing vineyards.
Pick up some new releases or buy an old favorite, and get a jump on holiday shopping.
Sponsored by the Southwest Washington Winery Association, the Thanksgiving Weekend Barrel Tasting Wine Tour will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 24-26, from noon to 6:00 pm. Offerings and tasting fees vary at each location.
