Annual Pow Wow…A Chance to Experience Native Culture

hey! sharing is caring :)

On Saturday March 4th, 2017, the community will be given the opportunity to experience Native American social dancing, drumming, singing, cultural performances and arts.

This event at Heritage High School (7825 NE 130th Avenue, Vancouver), from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, is FREE, open to the public and a great one for the whole family.

Attendees will be treated to an experience of the senses through colorful costumes, elaborate head dresses, the beating drums accompanying traditional singing and native foods available from vendors.

The Pow Wow is a collaboration of Evergreen Public Schools, Vancouver School District, and Battle Ground School District’s Native American Education Program (Title VI) and the Native American Parent Association of SW Washington.

The Native American Education Program (Title VI) Powwow highlights student leaders, promotes indigenous awareness, and educates the community about the cultural diversity of the Title VI school district consortium and Title VI students.

For more information contact the Native American Education Program at (360) 604-6757 or [email protected].

For Vendor information contact the Native American Parent Association of SW Washington at (360) 836-2191.
