Cystic Fibrosis Fundraiser Walk at Esther Short Park.
Great Strides is an annual walk to raise funds, awareness and hope for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. This year the Great Strides Walk will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Esther Short Park beginning at 9 am.
“Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF. Melissa’s nephew has CF and she walks every year as part of Billy Buck’s Battalion. About 15 years ago, I lost a friend due to complications from Cystic Fibrosis; but many advances have been made in the fight against CF in those years, thanks to people like Melissa who donate their time (and money) to walk every year, and people like you who donate their money.
