Share the warmth this season! The weather is turning cold and winter shelter and provisional programs are opening up and in need of supplies.
The Vancouver Neighborhood Alliance is again collecting cold weather items for the homeless in Vancouver and surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity to clear items out of the closet which are no longer wanted or needed. Or, you can get “warmed up” for Christmas shopping and invest into the local economy by purchasing and donating needed items.
Some of the needed items include jackets, blankets, sleeping bags, shoes, socks, gloves, and beanies. The Vancouver Neighborhood Alliance will begin collecting these items at their meeting on December 9, 2015, 7:00 pm, at the Vancouver Police Department West Precinct (2800 NE Stapleton Road, Vancouver, WA 98661).
“Vancouver Neighborhood Alliance (VNA) provides a forum for leaders to meet each other and hear issues which will likely affect all neighborhoods. A number of veteran leaders are available to assist new leaders in learning the ropes. Attend our monthly meetings and we can all learn together. It’s an excellent learning ground for working with local government.” ~Vancouver Neighborhood Alliance
