31st Annual National Night Out

hey! sharing is caring :)

On August 5th, the community is encouraged to connect with their neighborhood community and finds out ways to participate in the annual National Night Out (NNO), “America’s Night Out Against Crime”. This national observance is an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention, develop police-community partnerships, and send a message to criminals.

The introduction of this program was in 1984 and the 1st organized event took place on Tuesday, August 7th 1984. That year, 2.5 million Americans took part across 23 states.

This year will be the 31st observance of NNO and will involve over 37 million people from all fifty states and U.S. Territories, as well as Canadian cities and military bases worldwide.

National Night Out represents the spirit, energy and determination that make neighborhoods a safer place and sets the tone for safety awareness for the rest of the year.

In Vancouver and Clark County WA this event is organized by each neighborhood with the intension to bring the individuals that live there closer together.
