30th Annual Veterans Day Parade at Fort Vancouver

hey! sharing is caring :)

Join our community in honoring Veterans of all service branches at the Annual Lough Legacy Veterans Parade. The Fort Vancouver National Trust will host the 30th Annual Veterans Parade at Fort Vancouver on Saturday, November 5, 2016.  Festivities begin at 9:00 am and the parade begins at 11:00 am, rain or shine.

The ceremony preceding the parade, beginning at 10 am on the Marshall House lawn, will feature keynote speaker Captain Greg Wooldridge, USN (Ret.). Captain Wooldridge is the former Commanding Officer of the Blue Angels, the United States Navy’s flight demonstration squadron. The ceremony will also feature local veterans, and honor the 2016 Grand Marshal of the parade, Rear Admiral Mark Feichtinger, USN (Ret.) for his service to the Navy and our community.

Vancouver honors veterans of all branches of service with this annual parade, which begins at the east end of Officers Row at East Reserve Street, goes around the national site, and ends past the Pearson Air Museum. Attendees are welcome to watch the parade from the sidewalks and grass areas all along the parade route.

The parade attracts more than 120 entries with approximately 2,500 individuals marching or riding in the parade. The public is encouraged to attend and support veterans and troops at one of the largest Department of Veteran Affairs-sanctioned veteran’s parades on the West Coast. The parade will be broadcasted on CVTV.
