American Red Cross Clark County Blood Drive.
Did you know that one pint of blood can save up to three lives? Or that every two seconds someone needs a blood transfusion, and every year about five million patients in the US need blood? That life saving blood cannot be manufactured; it can only come from volunteer donors.
The American Red Cross Clark County Donation Center is having a special Blood Drive: “Ride the Slope, Give Someone Hope!” This campaign will begin January 10, 2011 and end January 15, 2011. They will be having a drawing throughout the week for Lift Tickets to HooDoo Ski Area and a $50 Gift Certificate to Timberline Lodge. Every donor who presents will be eligible for the drawing.
The donor hours are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday between 1:00 pm and 7:30 pm, and Friday and Saturday between 7:30 am and 1:00 pm (no collection on Thursday) at the Clark County Donor Center, 5109 NE 82nd Avenue, Vancouver, 98662 (by Vancouver Mall). I am blessed that I have never needed a transfusion, and that I am healthy enough to give blood. It is safe, doesn’t hurt, and, it makes me feel really good to know that I helped save a life. Be someone’s Hero, donate blood!
