The Clark County Walk and Knock Food Drive has been fighting hunger for 30 years now! Always the first Saturday of December, that means this year it will be on Saturday, December 5, 2015.
You can help in the fight against hunger by filling your Walk and Knock grocery bag with non-perishables (or personal hygiene items) and leave it on your front porch on Saturday morning. If you don’t receive your Walk and Knock grocery bag before Saturday, December 5, please feel free to use any grocery bag, just be sure to label it “Walk and Knock”. A half a bag, a full bag, or even two bags if you can… every bit helps!
Volunteers will gather together Saturday morning and begin their routes at 9am. You can either leave a bag on your front porch for pick up, or you can deliver your bag to any Clark County Les Schwab Dealership during normal business hours.
What if I forget that morning? (welcome to my world) :) Our friends at Riverview Community Bank will be accepting Food drop-offs and Cash donations at any of their branches (here’s a list of Riverview locations) all the way through January 15th.
The Walk and Knock Food Drive encompasses the entire Clark County area. Volunteers come from the Lions, Kiwanis, Rotary, Clark County Amateur Radio Club, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, local church groups, high school clubs, and several other organizations, as well as hundreds of other individuals who answer the call for help. Members from local service organizations and other community leaders head up the various staging sites.
