Wreaths Across America Service

hey! sharing is caring :)

Remember. Honor. Teach. There will be a Wreaths Across America Ceremony at Evergreen Memorial Gardens on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 10:00 am presented by the Lewis and Clark Young Marines.

Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day wreath-laying ceremonies are coordinated at over 1,100 locations in all 50 United States, at sea, and abroad.

Wreaths Across America is a memorial service honoring veterans and current service members. The service will begin with a wreath ceremony recognizing each branch of the military. Guests that have served or currently serve are invited to stand when their branch is featured. Then, after a brief flag ceremony, donated wreaths will be placed on the graves of veterans.

“Each day of the year is an opportunity to show our respect in the year-round mission to honor those who serve and sacrifice. Every wreath placed becomes a catalyst for bringing together different generations of Americans in one mission of remembrance and appreciation.”

This event is free to attend, and guests do not need to donate a wreath to participate. Evergreen Memorial Gardens is located 1101 NE 112th Avenue. The event is expected to run from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. You can visit Wreaths Across America to find out more about this national movement; or visit Lewis and Clark Young Marines for more information on donating a wreath.
