Share some plants and grow your garden, as well as some new friends, at the Wildlife Botanical Gardens Perennial, Bulb and Seed Swap on Saturday, September 23, 2017, between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm.
When bringing in plants to share, please label items as well as possible (i.e. botanical or common name, size,
sun/shade, wet/dry, bloom time, plant height).
Perennials and bulbs should be potted or in sturdy plastic bags, watered and pest free. Freshly collected seeds should be in individual envelopes or baggies by variety, or in viable store-bought seed packets. Bring your own cardboard boxes, flats or grocery bags to take plants home with you.
Years ago, I had a friend in my neighborhood that was a fantastic gardener. Her garden was constantly changing with the seasons, with different perennials in bloom, as well as annuals springing up from seeds. I was happy that she shared some of her gardening tips with me, but being the good neighbor that she was, she also shared some of her plants with me. Every year, as the daisies and lilies begin to bloom, I think of her. And, every time I thin out or divide my plants, I enjoy sharing them with my friends and neighbors.
