Neighborhoods throughout Washougal are invited to join over 38 million neighbors across 16 thousand communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, and military bases at the city’s first-ever National Night Out event.
Washougal Police Department and the City of Washougal will host an ice cream social on August 3, 2021, at Hathaway Park (799 25th Street) from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The event will also include free giveaways, safety demonstrations, and a selfie station.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work. Neighbors throughout Washougal and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on their front porch lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and law enforcement.
“On behalf of the members of the Washougal police department I want to invite everyone to participate in our first National Night Out event,” said Washougal Police Chief Wendi Steinbronn. “National Night Out is one small part of our overarching goal to enhance community engagement. This is a time to strengthen police-community relationships and meet your neighbors in a fun, welcoming environment.”
