The public is invited to see the works of two Clark County artists and meet Clark County’s poet laureate during the December 4, 2015 First Friday Art Walk at the Sixth-floor Gallery. The gallery is in the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St.
The works of Rebecca Anstine and Barbara A.W. Wright are on display in the gallery until the end of 2015. The show is entitled Connections: visual art for the benefit of the written word. Proceeds from the sale of the donated pieces will go to support and promote the county poet laureate program sponsored by the Clark County Arts Commission and Arts of Clark County.
Christopher Luna, the program’s inaugural poet laureate, Anstine and Wright will be at a reception from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the gallery on December 4. Works will be for sale from 3-7:30 p.m.
Music will be provided by students from Vancouver School of Arts and Academics and Mt. View High School through Spotlight on Young Performing Artists, an art commission program. Refreshments will be served.
The reception also is an opportunity to learn about arts programs initiated by Luna, including Poetry Moves, Poetry in the Schools and Poetry in the Shops.
The Sixth Floor Gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, except Christmas day.
