Vancouver Winter Brewfest Spreading Holiday Cheer One Mug at a Time

hey! sharing is caring :)

Winter in the Pacific Northwest brings cold, rain, snow…and amazing seasonal beers! This year will mark the 5th year of pouring local Winter Ales in one gigantic heated tent at the Vancouver Winter Brewfest on December 9-10, 2016.

The brewfest will be held outside at Esther Short Park, but be thoroughly tented and enclosed. The festival will be held between the clock-tower and the lighted Christmas tree, creating a festive downtown environment. Brian Davis, Brewfest Director states “We want to pack the house, and make it reasonable for all patrons. This year it is $12 to enter (instead of $25), which includes 1 Mug, 5 Tokens. Additional Tokens can be purchased for $1 each. We want everyone to be able to taste the Holiday from the great NW and Vancouver Breweries, listen to Christmas Music and drink with friends and family in a gigantic festive tent on the bricks.”

The Vancouver Winter Brewfest will be offering 35 taps and, as with many winter beer festivals around the northwest, dark, infused, aged, and/or higher alcohol content beers are often the norm being poured at these events. It gives the brewers creative choice to make specific beers, often exclusive to those festivals. The Vancouver Winter Brewfest will offer similar styles of beers, but on a more widely found basis. Tim Ahaus, marketing consultant for The Vancouver Winter Brewfest states, “Winter ale festivals are extremely interesting as they offer specific and creative beers only found at those festivals. However, the problem lays in trying to find that beer again once you leave. We want to provide great, locally produced winter beers that attendees can find at their local stores or pub.”

The Vancouver Winter Brewfest is a fundraiser for Kids with Energy and operated by Energy Events. The festival will be open December 9th from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm and December 10th from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. For more information, visit the Vancouver Winter Brewfest online.
