Did someone say Party? Join the folks at the Vancouver Water Center as they celebrate their 20th birthday in style.
Kids and their families are invited to join in a special Second Saturday birthday celebration from 1 to 3 p.m., February 13, at Vancouver’s Water Resources Education Center, 4600 SE Columbia Way. They promise to have a River of Fun learning about February Floods!
Enjoy hands-on activities, water science games and birthday cupcake treats while supplies last. What would a birthday party be without a clown? Special guest Eartha the Ecological Clown will provide extra fun for kids with face-painting and educational activities. Like admission to the Water Center, this special Second Saturday 20th birthday event is free.
Vancouver’s Water Resources Education Center first opened in February 1996, just weeks after flooding brought the Columbia River near its doors. Since that time, more than 750,000 have passed through those doors. The Water Center and its many programs have played a key role in increasing awareness about vital natural resources as visitors of all ages have come to learn about water, explore wetlands, count critters, share Second Saturday activities, enjoy festivals, and attend important functions in the community room overlooking the Columbia River.
